Hello guys, been on the server over the week and its been really good, thanks to all that played have had some good games. Heres a video of the infamous Waypoint 4

Basically we were deployed to Ravanay where the terrain is virtually open and elevated on all sides. The decision was to attack from the south east moving through a valley which would cover our flanks. Understandably if the enemy comes up on the flanks we would of been shot at from an elevated position which would of been bad, this being a game we didn't have enough of us to cover all our flanks. Anybody with any understanding of ratios would no its retarded to split a small force (7) so we didn't and our flanks remained exposed.

A thing I noticed through this game without me like saying go up on that hill people seemed to do it, I mean look at the surrounding you go up on one of those hills your dead that's it. My focus on the valley was to limit our arcs of fire so we didn't have to cover mass amounts of spaces, kinda like if you seen the film 300.

Being in that valley gave us a proven route which was clear for us to easily get close to the AO and use the vehicles as fire support, this worked really well, but no footage of that sorry.

Takistan has got lots of hills, but there're open, there're tempting to go on, i even wanted to go up there to destroy a tank with a javelin. However the enemy will engage you from 1k away so you expose your section to the entire AO with no cover on a desert hill with the intent on firing your chances of survival let alone success are slim. Don't get me wrong, we died on that low ground a few times, but i watched people go on that high ground just get annihilated, the difference was there was hard cover on the low ground, and no cover on the high ground, so people were dying in groups as apposed to the low ground where only one person would die, because there's no cover and your open to more fire. Ravanay is a really hard AO so a group of 8 as it stands is going to take you a long time, on initial contact with the AO you may have to accept its how many metres you gain not how many bunkers you capture.

I made a similar post on how exposed OPs were bear in mind we had cover on that example http://www.thewreckingcrew.co.uk/199439/topic/establishing-sectors-of-fire-um6

As a SL its hard because you go to fast, you die, people leave, you go to slow people get bored they leave. On that note though changing the topic to attitude, this group has an issue with it, people wont complain about it and there seems to be a few that just ruin it. In regards to reporting players ive been there done that worn the tee shirt it aint pretty, I've held back myself because some people just act pathetically, however a good and a bad attitude could be the difference between 7 players and 20 players. So when i play this server if I have to use 100gb worth of memory recording on one session then fine but im not playing the server to argue with some teenager I cant be doing it. If you don't like tactical realism don't play, I use feasible military tactics that work, so we create a proven route, create an all round defence, we locate the enemy we destroy the enemy then we attack or fall back. Non of us are perfect, including myself I would expect to be given a warning before being reported like anyone else, but its common sense if you feel this paragraph applies to you (because there are a few people) then sort it out, just some friendly advice. There's bugs in the game i get that, i don't care though because I just want to play and I will adjust my play style to those bugs until they are fixed. Its not a window of opportunity to act rude though, the fundamental battle tactics of creating that proven route and supply lines, observation, move and reorg, still need to be done. Im really not riding a high horse here, the aim is to have fun but lets be respectful. This paragraph relates to the current status of the server (bugs and play style).

Sorry for that but it kind of needs to be said just from my recent and past experience, but the main discussion is, how do you approach Takistan with this in mind. What we need for future AOs is more fire power including statics, we missed that before leaving which we should of got.

Cheers guys, loving the server right now so great job

Thanks!

all i can say is when u play for 2 and a half hours and you havent even captured a bunker yet with a near full section and barely entered the a.o..thats not gonna exactly be a "hit" amoung the lads hahaha ......then 2 guys join and do what the "common" tactics would be because of the bugs and stuff and capture them in around 20 mins ??..... lol defo not man....thats why i left man sorry but i cant handle that, no offence tho geeez i still play just calm down a bit and be practical as a section leader ? ...maybe let someone else ? .... lol

Well the thing is Kieran, that we spend a whole lot of pussyfooting around a map but that is my own opinion no hard feelings I just felt like we wasted a lot of time, nor were we allowed to use the equipment that was provided to us. This just felt really odd and made playing for me practically impossible.

@Australia, your talking about a game we played last Sunday where the AO was Furze Abad, the equipment you were adamant on using was a green chem light. The objective was not to be seen as if we took fire we were unable to return fire as our long range scopes were not working with NVGs, this meant we had to use vectors to recon each individual unit then pull back and get within 300 metres to engage. We spotted a shulka on the MSR meaning we couldn't drive in fear of blowing up so we ran. Staying on the OP in general with statics would of been bad because we had no cover from small arms or the ability to defend our selvs, you your self were thankful we were moving off OP, so you cant win.

Bugs- No NVGs with optics so we couldn't engage enemys at our OP.

- The stamina was bugged so it took a lot longer to get in position.

Im not saying my way is the right or wrong, its just my way, I cant tell you Phills way Cals way, Crabbs way, jefros way, or your way of doing things, but I will tell you my way, so please post something that's going to work better if you feel you have one, because anything else isn't productive, including people posting there opinions to justify attitudes.

@Jefro- Honestly im not going reply to your questions or your general post, you should be telling me assuming you no best, Ive already posted. I don't no best I can just give my own content and then hope someone corrects it if needed.
