I came across a wonderful contemporary 10 day news report on Exercise LIONHEART in 1984. It was the largest exercise by the British Army since WWII and consisted of two sub-operations; FULL FLOW (moving the troops from the UK to Germany) and SPEARPOINT (the actual field exercise). 

The British personnel in the exercise numbered 131,565 transported across by 290 flights and 150 sailings. 

Overall these are a great watch if you love the Cold War era stuff. 

I have seen it before Rik as well Its great ! I though I was the only one but I guess I should of guessed by your fellow appreciation of Sir Terry Gander's work.

I may or not have binged the entire thing before .... 

Its got everything from section attacks, to a Grenadier guard Battalion setting up a defensive line to the queen waving at the whole BAOR as they parade past.

One notable mention for this weekend is the Troop Tactic Videos linked below (The cheiftans also sound odly different to the ones that we currently use ..... ?
