Stream friendly UI enabled

Hi, watched Jefros vid last night (good vid btw), and thought I would suggest you should make enabling the stream friendly UI option mandatory and putting it in the installation guide. The option is in the Arma 3 main menu, configure, game and the 4th one from the bottom on the left column and 'enable' it.

Reason, well basically when Phil accidentally killed Metallic I think, everyone new he was dead without even checking, you wont check because you just seen his name disconnect at the bottom left. I didn't notice it when playing because I enabled it and you don't notice it when playing than you would do watching a vid.

I think it would defiantly improve immersion and would defiantly reduce the meta gaming. Obviously its impossible when your not aware of the solution so thought I would give it a shout.

Thanks.

Sounds good, never knew about it; but how about when people join the server?

Yer basically you don't see players joining and disconnecting, that really bugged me especially on the public.

I definitly agree with Kieranhere but so far I had mixed results:
First time I did it it worked just fine, however when I did it last Operation, I was still seeing the diconnect messages.

If it's enabled you can't see the chat or people connecting, disconnecting. I guess you or ArmA done goofed!

I used it before and it can be a bit confusing as a section commander on the public not knowing where people went. one time a guy disconnected and I started searching for him without knowing he had disconnected without telling anyone. I also think this could be a problem with reconnects in operation as no-one will know if someone reconnected and will be stuck at base or w/e

I changed it ages ago and forgot about it, thought it was a bug with my Arma where I thought it wasn't showing any messages at all. I noted how good it was for my immersion back then, haven't gone back yet!

Yeah, you told me how to do this a couple of days ago, it's really good. There's a couple of scenarios where it's not perfect, like when BattleEye kicks someone, and you don't know if they're DC'd.

AS far as i am aware this cannot be server side forced, and there would be no way of actually enforcing this. However seeing as we are here for realism i would hope that people would turn this on but as it stands that will be their prerogative.

You could always remove the excuse of ignorance and put it in the installation guide and pms? Knowing someones dead in your section without checkings meta gaming, surely you would do every messure possible to prevent it. Meta gaming is no exception i would assume. Members should be enforcing it not the server like any other rule e.g.

Recruit "shame that guy died"
Member "how did you no that"
Recruit "just came up on the bottom left and said he disconnected"
Member "you should turn that off or I will report you for meta gaming"

Job done

or like the vid the whole section goes "AWW" and there no where near the guy.

When this thread fades away you will still have your issue.
