The future of TWC

As we head into summer we have come to the point where I can no longer run TWC.

However, I have put too much time into this group and made too many friends to just dump and run or have the group splinter into a million pieces like what happened in Arma 2. Currently management is looking for a place to find a home. A place where we can play arma as well as use their teamspeak for Wargame, Barotruama, or any shit game of the week.

The obvious candidate is ETR and to this end we are looking to do a trial operation with them this Saturday. If you want to play an operation next week you sign up here:

QuoteTeamspeak and Discord:

Ts.tacticalrealism.eu
https://discord.gg/wB4vyaBu

Wildly, they trust their members to put their own names on their roll sheets.

I was going to write up a thank you message, but this isn’t the group ending, this is just a new chapter in Arma. Except for past and present members of management. (They are special) Without the extra work and time you committed we would never have had all of the great memories throughout the years.

It's been a great decade guys. Thanks so much to all the mission makers and partakers for making Saturdays fun, for all the public chads in the past even if it never was quite the same as arma 2. Big shout out to Jayman, current and past management who put in a lot of work (and money!) for the rest of us.

Beauty with Discord is we can use the VOIP for gaming together if we're not in arma. Sorry Fro, I know that pained you to read. Please do keep in touch. I'll be trying out ETR, looks promising.

What am I going to do with all this useless arma technical knowledge, however?

Sorry to hear this guys, this group has been a real support of the last few years. I will still be running the smaller SOE operations. We don't need as many members to pay ops and this might help to give an Arma fix during the transition. Thanks everyone

Though this isn't the end (technically), I'd just like to thank you all for your unwavering support during my time as management and for giving me years more TWC fun and fond memories that I will always keep moving forward.

TWC has been a massive part of my life and it saddens me to see the name go again but it is absolutely the right thing to do. It might seem stressful at the moment but alas fear not we all get to play together still, just under a different name.

But alas, thanks all and this will be my last post as management of TWC, peace.

Man and here I thought my morning was going great. Woke up, watched Top Gun Maverick, go on Discord to check memes and I see a TWC Announcement about the future of the group.

Sucks to see the group shutting down, even if I haven't played OPS in a while. Had some great memories here with the boys. Sad to see the group shutting down, but I at least hope the Discord is going to stay up so we can continue partaking in the shitposting.

It's been an honor boys. -.-7

I'm not crying you're crying

It's been emotional, I've loved (almost) every minute of the last 3 years that I've been involved in the group, from my first op: Op Balloon where I was minced by a whirblewind. To my last: Op Rifle where I went from a humble rifleman to Section Commander due to the untimely demise of the commanders, I have learned a lot and gained lifelong friends.

Onward to the next chapter, ETR seem to be a great bunch of guys and I'm sure their ops are great fun too. Their public server is also very well maintained which will hopefully see some what of a return to us playing that regularly I do hope that you all give them a chance and continue playing with us.

See you in an op some time soon!

It is worth mentioning that the joint op with RMMU will go ahead as planned at the end of this month, even if you choose not to come to ETR you are very welcome to attend this.

Thank you all for these past two years,

Its really been a pleasure getting to know a bunch of morons with the same interests as me. Through all the good and the bad this group has unwaverling stood here and given us all a place to unwind on a saturday night and I will be forever grateful for that. I hope that we can all stay in touch and continue to have our shit game of the week which are always a good a laugh. I guess we just need to wait a few years for ArmA 4 and TWC will be back in all its stupid glory.

Hope to see you all soon, SJ.

Sad to see this happen but every good thing must come to an end, or should it? I know ETR are a great group of guys, and that’s coming from playing with them first hand in BAES ops and I’m sure they will accommodate everyone with open arms. I haven’t been a full fledged TWC member for all, but there’s a reason I chose TWC as my civvy group away from my other organised BAES group. You are all a sound bunch of blokes and I hope I all see your names in the discord, teamspeak and lobby many more times. And wherever people choose to move to, you are all very much welcome to hang in the BAES discord as a place to go, and even more so participate in ops even as a part of the units where people move off to. It’s been a pleasure boys, I’ll be sure to keep in touch!

Ah man fuck me, TWC has been a huge part of my Saturdays for a decade. But I suppose the next chapter is here. Thank you Jayman, and all management and all members for all you’ve done to make a fun time, and annoying the shit our of my partner having to have a maniac shouting in the other room every Saturday.

Let’s see how ETR goes, and fuck me I guess this means I have to check Discord now every once in a while?

The big sad to see TWC as we know it come to an end, I've made so many friends and memories over the last 6 or so years. It's been a pleasure gentlemen.

A REMINDER TO ALL THAT WE'RE TRYING TO MOVE AS MANY AS POSSIBLE TO ETR TO CONTINUE PLAYING TOGETHER.

For those who follow, I look forward to many more operations together. For those who choose not to follow, god speed and thanks for the memories.

Watch the roads guys, love you all.

(ps. i made a nice photo to share with you all but crabb made me turn it into a meme)

It's been a hell of a journey since the Arma 2 days and so many great memories. I havent attended ops recently due to the 12 hours a day of no power and other issues but there are so many memories I will never forget that came out of those many Saturdays. Massive thanks to Jayman for keeping things going and the lights on for so long, and to the members of management who stepped in to help out as well as the mission makers, all who gave up hours and days of their time to make ours more enjoyable every Saturday.

This definitely isnt the end and I hope to still see you all around soon (assuming the country hasn't descended into Anarchy by then) whether on ETR's discord or out in the wild. Until then, watch out for the Hinds!

Jeez, that was harder to read than i thought it would be.

I thank you all, especially past and present management, for the time and effort you put into this thing -- a fantastic invisible extension of the everyday, a community thick with this elusive sense of itself (sometimes very gay for no real reason by the way, what's up with that?) -- that i cherish so much.
Thank you for providing me with things to fondly remember, with people to call friends, with weird and funny talks in odd hours of the night, and with yet another small heartfelt loss which is usually dubbed living life.

It ain't going to be the same, but i'm glad i was here.

I'm still expecting to annoy some of you on some other servers anyway so don't you get lost you cunts.

Man this sucks. It goes without saying its been an absolute pleasure playing with all you guys in all of my various stints in TWC. Sorry too that I've not been around much over the last few months. Hopefully I'll catch most of you on the ETR servers at some point in the nit too distant future.

At least I got my tags this time around.

Well this is it. I have had a great time with all of you guys in every operation that I have had the pleasure of playing in. I will fondly remember the good and the not so good times (THEO)..

What started out as one game every couple of weeks turned into every weekend and became choice time for me. I will remember you all and wish you all the best in ETR.

I will not be following you to that group I have decided to move on to another group still within the Arma 3 community.

I wish you all the high jinx and fun that this group has offered and more in what ever home you find.

SOL out.

I'm super sad to hear this. It's been 10years since I first signed up. So many Saturday evenings, we have played together, So many laughs, heated debriefings but most of all good times.

Thanks to Jayman for keeping it going so long despite the fact we're ungrateful kids and everyone that put time into management and mission making and training.

I'll also follow to ETR and give it a go there. Perhaps it's for the best and we can get back to company ops again. Although I would have prefered they merged with us,.I hope most of you move there as you guys have all been part of what has made TWC so great.

Even though I haven't been to an Op in god knows how long, and I stop by to chat every now and then, this group has always been the best bunch of war crime-ing degenerates.

It's hard to see it go again, but atleast the memories of the last 10 years will always be there, I still talk about the group to anyone who listens, as I've had some of the best gaming memories in this group, from Jayman's drunk political rants, to Crabb's racing antics, and the chaos of the public server, I'll miss it all.

I'll find some time to get over to ETR and pay a visit, after all, once you're part of the Crew, you're always part of the Crew.

In a bit lads!
