Bergen xl’s (what are commonly known as just bergens) have now been added to the ammoboxes for modern british 2IC’s. They can carry a ton of kit and are really cumbersome and unsuitable for any kind of combat, and therefore you cannot sprint while you are carrying it. This encourages the real world practice of dropping off the bergens at some kind of laying up point and then coming back for them later after a firefight.
New 90’s playable section, Royal Marines. These have been used extensively so far and it's going really well. The main difference to the army section is that they have a single lsw and 2 minimis, and they can be visually identified by their mismatching camo, here’s an example:
New public mission, Kunduz 90’s. Also tested ealier with great success (minus the annoying kunduz performance bug which occasionally crops up) and is currently the only mission to feature the marines.
A few loadout fixes went in, namely the 90’s spotter not having a long range radio, sniper not having a spare rangecard, section ic’s/2ic’s not being able to spawn medical crates and 90’s units having access to vectors. A few other bits went in as well, but I’ve forgotten them.
There have been some weapon changes. For you guys there is a browning hi power, which is essentially a 1911 chambered in 9mm. This will be available to sniper teams and IC’s in the 90’s era missions.
Going against you guys is a couple of bits to make sure everyone is still regularly browning their trousers. Regular enemies are untouched, but I’ve added a new bombsetter and sniper class to the middle eastern faction. These will only be used in events, they will not spawn naturally. The bombsetter has a couple of ied’s and a few anti personnel mines, so have fun with that. The reason for this being created is because the method I use for SVBIED’s is no longer working properly and I wanted a new method of causing psychological trauma.
There’s also a new sniper. They love improvisation out there, and it occurred to me that there’s nothing stopping someone from taking a barrel from one of the zeus cannons that we have and sticking some optics on it, like what is commonly being seen at the moment in syria/yemen where there are almost as many cameras as guns. Now, once in a blue moon, you’ll see a version of the KSVK chambered in 23mm. It’s pretty much impossible to hit a bloke with it, but a vehicle? This unit should provide a healthy balance between the minor inconvenience of a rifle and the ridiculous overkill of an actual zeus cannon.
Future plans are to get all this stuff integrated (it's 50/50 at the moment with actual server integration but should be done when I get some time at home in the next 3 days or so) and then keeping an eye on loadouts for any errors that crop up. Also I need to figure out why the mortar radar marker system keeps acting like Jackson Pollock.
