Conflict Overview Chernarus is a large region in Russia located on the border with Chechnya, Dagestan and mainland Russia. The goverment which was oriented toward the east has been prosecuting everyone who is not their supporter and is against their independence. The central goverment in Moscow has decided it will not allow another Chechen war to happen so it quickly mobilized the military stationed in the region to arrest the goverment officials and instate martial law until the new officials were selected. However as with all transitions, there were opponents to this one. Parts of the police and civilian populace (mostly in rural areas) still loyal to the fallen goverment have decided to reign terror on the military until they retreat and fulfill their demands of independence.
Recent Events Insurgent attacks have become more frequent, with the latest bombing of an army base in Elektrozavodsk. The goverment has declared a state of emergency and decided to send in the army to clear out the insurgents.
