Reshmaan Province

Conflict Overview

The war in Afghanistan is on its ninth year. The situation is still the same as it has been since the start of Operation Herrick. The ISAF forces in the Helmand province and the smaller Reshman Province, is under the full control of the British command. The area house mostly British troops but also Danish and American troops are located in the two provinces. The enemy is still fighting strong and more and more aggressive. As the general public opinion of the war decrease, more and more countries are talking about a withdrawal. The fear from ISAF command is that this messages from the home front will give the Taliban a moral victory. It has come to the ISAF commands attention that it is time for a change of strategy. This new form for search and destroy missions will replace the old patrolling. By cutting of the head of the Taliban command, hitting their ammo supplies and making it impossible for Taliban to operate.
Recent Events
The last few weeks the ISAF forces has been preparing for a large operation under the name Operation Knockout. All over the country ISAF forces will attack key Taliban locations and trying to do as much harm as possible. All forces are involved in the operation. It is time to send Tali’Bob and his companions back to their caves.

The battalions intent with this operation is to show a strong presence in the province of Reshmaan. Switching from a defensive stance towards an offensive, taking the fight into deep Taliban controlled areas.

1: Our first objective is to move to the area and villages surrounding the Temirah Fields. Investigate the area, locate and destroy the Taliban ammo depot. The area is known for its high presence of IED’s along with Taliban friendly forces.
2: We are tasked with eliminating or capture the local Taliban leader in the city of Derya. The city is highly populated so keep civilian casualties to a minimum. It is unknown where in the city the leader is located so you will have to go from door to door until you find him.
3: The Americans in the southeast part of the province has asked the battalion for aid to locate and recover a captured US journalist. We are to move to FOB Revolver and gain information from the FOB commander before moving out into the surrounding areas to recover the journalist. Return the journalist to either the FOB or our base in the northwest.
