The Kingdom of Takistan is an oil-rih country located on the border between the Near East and Central Asia. While it has an ancient history, Britain (and Russia) became interested in it during the Great Game due to it's strategic location. However no side could claim it as their own and it stayed neutral for much of the 19th Century, albeit being charmed by the German Empire. These relations were partially maintaned in the 20's and 30's but the country generally came under British influence.
This changed dramatically during the current war. With our commitment in Europe and now Africa, our presence in the region has withered. Possibly encouraged by this as well as German promisses of territorial gain from a defeated British Empire, the Takistanis recently underwent a Palace Coup with the Shahzadeh Ismail Hassan putting his father under house arrest and assuming control of the nation.
First the Italo-German aggresion in North Africa and now this Takistani aggresion threaten to cut of our vital shipping lane to the colonies: the Suez Canal. As such Takiforce has been formed by both British and colonial (mostly Indian) forces available in the area. Using our bordering colonies as a staging ground, we have quickly advanced over the southern plains and are now about to breach the Takistani Plateau.Recent Events:
Our advance in the plains was quick, and now we know why: It seems that the Takistanis have fallen back to their natural defenses, the mountains, for a preparred defence. Our main advantge so far, the tank force, has been rendered nearly useless by the steep hills and the lack of roads of the plateau. Even when our armoured platoons manage to climb the mountain passes, they are usually greeted by German made AT-guns, which are easily concentrated around these chokepoints.
We managed to take the Pass south of Loy Manara with relative easy but are now stopped by the Mountain range. Our concentrated assaults on the Sar-E Sang pass have not succeded, due to the supporting fire from the nearby Hills. As such we have layed out a new plan: We will mount a light attack on the Pass itself, to draw the enemies attention, while attacking the entiretiy of the ridge surrounding the Pass itself on a wide front. We will then pour into the valley behind it, cutting off the force that defends the pass itself. Objectives:
- Break through the Defense Line in the Hills
- Take and Hold the Village of Sakhe
Weapons: Various Bolt-Action Rifles, Maxim Machine Guns, Light Machine Guns.
Uniform: Beige Uniform with Dark Stahlhelm-Helmets.
Population: ~50 in the nearest Village.
Allegiance: Hostile, Tribal Battle-Groups are expected.
