Operation UNTOWARD
1990's Motorised

Operation Start: 10:30 24.11.1998

Future Weather: Overcast with rain and low visibility.
Map: Chernarus

Conflict Overview:
After the latest round of closely fought Chernarus general elections between the regions two largest parties, the Chernarus Defence Force (CDF) and Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ), tensions amongst the local populous started to rise. Add to this accusations of corruption and election rigging, the situation soon escalated with many local political leaders taking to violent measures in order to establish local governments.

The CDF, whilst not a member of NATO, called upon NATO to assist in what it regards as being in both their best interests, quelling the rise of aggressive Russian backed Communist regimes in Eastern Europe. NATO, whilst keen not to get involved in another armed conflict, having recently dedicated resources towards the Kosovo in the Balkans, agreed to send a limited amount of support to the region to act in an advisory and logistical role only. British Armed Forces (BAF) are stationed in what was the formerly abandoned Balota airfield and are using it as a base of operations, advising high ranking CDF military officials and offering basic training to regular infantry.

Recent Events:
CDF have lost several key towns in the more economically deprived Northern Chernarus area, most notably Stary Sobor, which has become the de-facto capital for ChDKZ. The conflict has moved South with intense fighting in the market town of Zelenogorsk and the nearby village of Kozlovka. Reports suggest that ChDKZ have relocated all their personnel into the afore mentioned towns in an attempt to establish them as strongholds. It is therefore considered unlikely that there are any ChDKZ located elsewhere at the moment.

CDF have been successful thus far on keeping a firm grip on the coastal Chernarussian cities but have taken to establishing vehicle checkpoints after a series of successful deadly terrorists attacks.

With the conflict ongoing, fewer and fewer Chernarus haulage businesses are operating any further North of CDF controlled areas, as numerous incidents of local militia extorting truck drivers have started to surface. This has led to an increasingly dire situation for civilians in these areas, with food and resources becoming more scarce as deliveries have dried up. This has caught the attention of the United Nations (UN) who are keen to avoid a humanitarian crises. On the evening of the 23rd of November, after much deadlock, a temporary ceasefire deal brokered by the UN between the two conflicting forces was agreed in order to allow for a UN relief helicopter to deliver much needed supplies.

At 0927, a UN helicopter left Balota, destined for Kabanino. The helicopter was due to arrive at 1000 but this time has since passed with no sign of the helicopters arrival. Air Traffic Control (ATC) last made contact with the helicopter at 0949, not reporting any issues, shortly before it vanished from radar.

NATO and the UN have given their approval for BAF to use whatever means necessary to locate the missing helicopter. A search area has been marked out and provided. Intelligence from locals suggests that there are two ZU-23 Anti-Air (AA) weapons located in the marked search area. Eliminating these AA threats should allow for the use of a Gazelle helicopter to greatly assist in scouting out this search area. Poor weather conditions are likely to cause an impediment.

1. Locate Missing UN Helicopter.

Secondary Objectives:
• Destroy ChDKZ AA Site 1.

• Destroy ChDKZ AA Site 2.

Completing these Secondary Objectives successfully will allow for aerial surveillance of the search area.

bout 3 years ago, I saw a huge convoy of NATO vehicles moving east past the city I live in. It was a pretty sight. Lots of mixed country vehicles.

I should point out, that we have the modern variant and already use it, the old variant has never existed in a video game

chaza's just being chaza, main upgrade of the jackal gave it a new engine and proper turret ring for the main MG instead of a pintle with swingarm mount. Everything after that has been cosmetic from a game point of view like different rollcage etc
[TWC] Singleton 4th Dec
What really is the difference
[TWC] Chaza 4th Dec
Shame we only have the "old" jackal in Arma, not that it makes a big diff
[TWC] Chaza 4th Dec
Jackal are the TITS
Daniel 4th Dec
In all seriousness, the Jackals are brilliant vehicles really. Can't wait for Saturday!
