Iraqi forces have invaded and annexed Kuwait for a myriad of political reasons under rulership of Saddam Hussein. During the hostile takeover, British forces attempted to extract diplomatic personnel and most secret information from their embassy to no avail. Determined to redeem themselves on the international stage as a major player, Margaret Thatcher dramatically increased British contribution to Desert Shield as a direct response to the embarrassment.
Following poor reception to economic sanctions placed upon Iraq and repeated Iraqi military excursions into Saudi oil fields, Desert Shield has turned to combat phase Desert Storm.
The 16th/5th Queens Royal Lancers Medium Reconnaissance 'A' Squadron is an exemplry example of 7th Armoured Divisions assault onto the hostile lines this morning, as part of Operation SLACKVILLE.Recent Events:
Operation SACKVILLE has punctured the Iraqi defence on the outskirts of Kuwait, exploiting the gap and causing havoc on the rear of their outer defence. This operation amongst several others have resulted in a full fledged rout of Iraqi Forces. NATO command wishes to utilise this opportunity to the full, before they're able to re-establish a defensive line. Hopefully ensuring a swift delivery of freedom to Kuwait, and her peoples.
The higher ups have decided to captilise on our supreme air superiority within the region with a vertical flank, not only to envelope the enemy forces, but to also cut them off vital logistical lifelines. We're to destroy enemy emplacements ensuring they cannot be used against us, and to capture their logistics installation, holding it off against any incoming forces.
As this is part of a region wide operation, available air space will be limited. Objectives:
- Destroy Regional Command Post
- Destroy Artillery Emplacements
- Capture Logistics Installation
