Situation

The insurgents sell, donate and barter for thousands of weapons to various citizens and tribes every month, as a method of making the civilian population sympathetic to their cause. These efforts are largely ineffective due to our own hearts and minds activities, but the markets continue.

Intelligence work has recently uncovered that a known smuggler by the name of Al Fish has secured a shipment of western weaponry after a joint USMC/ANA convoy was wiped out in another region. We believe he is planning to bring a selection of these weapons to the market on friday to open negotiations and increase the general level of weaponry in the civilian and insurgent population, which is bad for us.

Objectives

Travel to the Central Deriyah Market and quarantine the area, searching for any armed insurgents
Find Al Fish with evidence of illegal smuggling
Capture or kill Al Fish if evidence is found

Other information

Tribal law in the area states that all citizens are allowed to carry a single firearm. You can expect to see a lot of armed civilians in around around the city of Deriyah, but they are pro ISAF for the most part and, although they won’t fight the insurgents, we don’t expect them to cause us trouble. If there are armed insurgents in the area we believe they will hide and shoot from buildings if they can.

Intel claims Al Fish drives a yellow Ural with an open bed, but we don’t know if he’s actually carrying any weaponry or if he’s only coming to open negotiations. We cannot do anything more than stop and search the vehicle if we find no evidence of illegal activity.

The event will start with a siege at 1900 to get everyone in and sorted before moving out afterward. This usually lasts about half an hour.

Also, most of those right wing extremists were formed by my “wonderful” country.
[TWC] Mallas 26th May
Also, if you're quoting UN, quote it correctly. 12% was caused by FARC and ELN, while 80% by right wing extremists and 8% by Columbian security forces.
[TWC] Mallas 26th May
FARC was never killing civilians for the sake of it, like all rebel groups they were fighting against political oponents. And like some rebel groups out there khmIRAkhm, they're not a terror group.
[TWC] nickthegreek 26th May
Yes, you are right. I was refering the FARC for it's last two decades
[TWC] dinoscool3 26th May
The current FARC are opposition I;the government, the days of the militarized FARC have long past. The splinter group was all but destroyed rather quickly last year.
[TWC] nickthegreek 26th May
*political controversy achieved*
[TWC] nickthegreek 26th May
I think that out of all the parties involved in that area the FARC is one of the best. The UN released statistics showing that far right paramilitary groups that work with the goverment are responsible for 80% of the civilian deaths, and this group is singled out only for its political views
[TWC] Vieira 26th May
Besides the fact that they literaly rule the drug empire to finance the war. There is no ending to FARC with a Poltic Peace Treaty. They are drug dealers, rapers and kidnapers. That's all.
[TWC] Vieira 26th May
It made no difference. There was a Pardon and "Peace Signing". They were always rogue, nothing changed. Just Politicians shaking hands.
