Conflict Overview:
On 7 April 2018, a chemical attack was reported in the city of Douma, with 70 people killed and 500 injured. On-site medics stated the cause of those deaths was exposure to chlorine and sarin gas. The Syrian government denied any use of chemical weapons. Following the incident in Douma, the UN Security Council failed to adopt three competing resolutions on an inquiry into the alleged chemical attack, with Russia and the U.S. clashing over the issue. Following the incident, Syrian government forces entered and established control over the city of Douma, ending the five year Siege of Ghouta. The militants of Jaysh al-Islam that had previously occupied the pocket were transported to Jarabalus.
 
On 14 April 2018, the United States, United Kingdom, and France launched missile strikes on multiple government targets in Syria as a response to the suspected chemical attack in Douma.
 
On 19 April 2018, the Syrian army and allied Palestinian groups began an offensive against the Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees, which had at least partially been occupied by ISIL. The offensive resulted in the deaths of at least 19 ISIL militants and at least 15 pro-government fighters; however, at least 19 civilians were reportedly killed in the campaign, as well as at least 150 injured.

On 01 May 2018, the NATO council has decided to deploy troops to Syria to de-escalate the rising tensions between the pro-Assad forces which are back by Russia and the Syrian Democratic Forces which are a Kurdish majority. The US, UK and France have decided to deploy troops in the north-eastern region of Syria, Takistan. With the support of the SDF, NATO troops have built a base at the Loy Manara airfield and are currently based out of it.

Recent Events:
US Navy Seals have obtained intel of a key Syrian scientist that was involved in the making of the chemicals that were used to attack civilians in Douma. Command has decided to send in our platoon to act as escort to the Navy Seals while the bring the scientist back to the airfield, where he will be transport to Den Haag to stand trial for his crimes against humanity.
