Map: @beketovConflict Overview:
After the unsuccessful Soviet invasion of Western Europe earlier this year, multiple counter-attacks by NATO forces have gun. While the USMC and Royal Marines secured a bridgehead in northern Poland, NORTHAG pushed the Soviets back into Eastern Germany. Czechoslovakia has fallen to advancing NATO forces as well, with the first units pushing into southern Poland. The gap is closing on Soviet forces, with Warsaw now being directly threatened. Reconnaissance reports the situation in Warsaw is tense, with the Polish citizenry becoming increasingly opposed to the Soviet dominance. Recent Events:
With the conclusion of Operation CUIRASSIER, the Polish city Beketov has fallen to advancing NATO forces of TF Wellesley. The Soviet division in the region has taken heavy losses, and now seems to be desperately trying to evacuate north towards Warsaw. A Soviet tank company and the remnants of the Soviet divisional artillery have been sporadically attacking the NATO front-line in Beketov, preventing British troops from breaking out eastwards. Therefore, air mobile units are being deployed to cut off the retreating Soviet supply columns and take care of the Soviet artillery. There are a number of bridges on the route towards Warsaw that, should they be destroyed by the retreating Soviets, will severely hamper the allied liberation of Poland, and must therefore be secured.
Due to the remaining units of armour, both IFVs and tanks, Americans have urgently supplied British forces with TOW missile pods. The Army Air Corps has installed a number of these to their Gazelle and Scout helicopters to support the air mobile assault. Objectives:
1. Destroy the Soviet divisional artillery.
2. Secure the first bridge (Maloe Vorontsovo).
3. Secure the second bridge (Studenets).
A number of small garrisoned buildings should be cleared to allow infantry from the south to push up faster.Situation OPFOR:
