Current Weather: Somewhat overcast.
Future Weather: Clear, sunny.
Map: Everon, @cup_terrains_cwaConflict Overview:
Despite the Soviet invasion of Western Europe two weeks ago and the development of a stagnant front in West-Germany neither side has opted to use its strategic nuclear arsenal against their opponent. SACEUR has already begun positioning the steadily flowing reserve of units from the USA and UK for a general offense into Germany and Bohemia.
Besides minor incidents involving GRU sleeper units in Western Europe at the start of the war they have remained mostly dormant; MI5 believes there has been a major breakdown in communications. As such, command believes that now is the safest time to move a number of strategic weapons.Recent Events:
Everon, located in Northern Scotland and mostly populated by the descendants of French Huguenots, home to a small airfield and many sheep, has been designated as an ideal spot for the deployment of airborne ASW units against Soviet submarines in the North Atlantic. The Royal Navy has transported a number of strategic weapons to the port on the south side of the island which now have to be moved to the airfield on the north side.
It is understood that after a small media blunder, GRU sleeper units may have moved to the island in an attempt to disrupt and destroy the movement of the weapons. It now falls to the RAF Regiment units to protect the trucks. These GRU units are extremely well trained to blend in with the population and conduct guerilla warfare. Therefore the convoy may expect prepared ambushes along the route.
Despite the RAF Regiment units on the island being thinly stretched, they have deployed a number of a checkpoints for the convoy along the route which the convoy must pass. The locations of these have been supplied to the convoy on the map. Moreover, due to the heavy load of the trucks, and the volatile nature of their load, it is mandated to keep the trucks on the road as much as possible, lest they get stuck, or worse. Objectives:
Move all the convoy trucks to RAF Saint Phillippe. Defend the convoy against any ambushes, clearing the route along the way. Situation OPFOR:
