Map: @thirskConflict Overview:
After the disastrous campaign in France in 1940, the Prime Minister has been looking for ways to bolster British morale without having to fight (and win) large scale battles. One of the ways is raiding the occupied European coasts by smaller scale units, inflicting maximum damage and collecting intelligence, forcing the Germans to maintain a strong standing garrison near all important coastal facilities.Recent Events:
The Lofoten Islands in northern Norway are home to a large fleet of fishing trawlers and fish oil refineries. Glycerine, out of which nitroglycerin is made, is extracted out of this oil. Troops are being sent to the islands to raid these facilities and inflict as much damage as possible on them. To this achieve this goal, a large amount of explosives have been requisitioned. There is a sizeable German garrison on the islands, but not all of them are expected to be guarding the factories and docks. When these facilities are attacked, there are likely to be sizeable counterattacks.
One of the islands houses a small airfield with a Luftwaffe unit. Should they launch these planes they could inflict serious damage on our transport ships. As such, seizing the airfield should be priority. Objectives:
