Conflict Overview:
Following the development of a stagnant front in the the fight between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces in Germany, SACEUR moved to attack through Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovak forces and civilians, ill-motivated to fight for the occupying Soviets in the wake of the Prague Spring, quickly capitulated, or in some cases turned on the Soviets, making the NATO campaign in the area much easier. Because of this, NATO forces are now preparing for their offensive into southern Poland. Meanwhile, British Royal Marine Commandos and the American USMC are gathering on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic, ready to begin landings in northern Poland.

Recent Events:
Large amounts of allied forces are in the process of being moved to Bornholm. The first British and American units have only just landed on the island and taken up positions. The Danish garrison has been present since the start of the war, but attrited as a consequence of having to reinforce mainland forces.

Yesterday, an urgent reconnaissance report from American spy planes alerted command that Soviet VDV units have been gathering in Soviet Lithuania in preparation for an assault. Intelligence believes possible targets are Denmark proper, Norway, or Bornholm. NATO forces on the island have been put on high alert.
