Recognising the situation, several military commanders defected before the US onslaught forced their surrender, and they have set up insurgent cells all across the country to wage guerrilla warfare, gaining popularity and manpower from the civilian populace.
Recent events Over the past 2 months US Marines have garrisoned the area in a campaign of aerial bombing and an armoured assault moving from FOB Ishaqi in the southeast. In the months leading up to and following the assault, leaflets and loudspeaker announcements were spread to evacuate the towns and cities surrounding the construction of the airbase, built on top of the long-abandoned Khan Bani Saad Airfield. Tanks have been brought in to secure the area, and frontline forces are currently clearing through Khan Bani Saad, just south of the refinery where cell TWC is encamped.
1: Procure equipment from a weapons cache in an abandoned warehouse 2 (in any order): A: Attack the Iraqi police station B: Attack the USMC checkpoint 3: Damage parked aircraft in the Airbase to the southeast
Optional: 1: Recover a pair of stashed SPG-9 Land Rovers to the northeast of the Airbase 2: Attack FOB Ishaqi
Situation INVADERS: Weapons: M16, M249 Uniform: Camouflage Vehicles: HMMWV, M1A2, M6A2, AH-64 Additional (IMPORTANT): The invading forces have a full radio infrastructure with access to multiple QRF’s in the region across heliborne, armoured, dismounted and mechanised forcetypes. To avoid taking an unsustainable amount of casualties, it is critical that all fighters have disengaged and fled areas of combat by the time QRF assets arrive on scene.
US forces have been instructed to treat everyone that has ignored the evacuation order as hostile. However, so far they have proven unlikely to fire upon someone unless they are wearing military gear, carrying a weapon or getting too close. They have also made it clear that they will fire upon any vehicle in the region due to the VBIED threat.
US Forces have also locked down travel routes including highways and crossings over the irrigation channels. Given our intended route, one or more of these will need to be overrun somehow as the channels in particular cannot be driven over.
Situation DEFENDERS: Weapons: AK, PK variants Uniform: None Vehicles: Trucks Additional: There are no other known cells in the province, we are all that’s left
