By: [TWC]Ross & [TWC] Aleyboy

Forcetype: Air Assault/Dismounted

Operation Start: 11th June 2011, 0430 (Sunrise)
Current Weather: Clear
Future Weather: Sandstorm
Map: @fallujah

Conflict Overview:
British forces have been in Afghanistan since 2001 when they were sent as part of a coalition tasked with intervening in Afghanistan to find the leaders of al-Qaeda after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. By the end of 2001, the Taliban regime in Afghanistan had collapsed but an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) remained. ISAF's role was to oversee the transition to a new government and provide security for the redevelopment of the war torn country.

In 2006, as part of a reorganisation of ISAF (now under NATO control), British troops were sent to the southern province of Helmand. Their intended role was to provide stability and security for reconstruction projects, but their arrival provoked a violent response from a resurgent Taliban.

Recent Events:
A CIA operative has identified the home of the Supreme Commander of the Taliban (Haibatullah Mujahid, see image below). Due to the location of the compound within the city, a drone strike has been ruled out. To minimise civilian casualties, a heliborne strike by the US Rangers supported by TWC Platoon has been authorised.

The operation will take place during sunrise when the locals should be engaged in prayer. A sandstorm is inbound to the area so the helicopter phase of the operation should be completed in no longer than 30 minutes before the area becomes a no fly zone. ... SE

To support the US operation to capture Haibatullah Mujahid before moving to strike Taliban positions at the discretion of the Company Commander, call sign Sunray.

Phase 1
Secure the Exterior of the Taliban Supreme Commander’s Compound
The US Rangers will insert directly into the target compound while TWC platoon will create a perimeter. Once the target has been secured, TWC platoon will fall back into the compound and exfil via helicopter. A US QRF force (Callsign Viper) is on standby should it be needed, See plan below: ... VZ

Phase 2
Await further instructions
The operation will no doubt cause an uprising in the city, TWC platoon will be on standby for further operations in the city.
